The bedroom with the French carved queen size bed was incredibly luxurious, and the double doors leading to the sunny patio provided a peaceful escape. I loved the luxury continental breakfast served on beautiful china and cut glass through my own private dining hatch. the private garden was completely secluded, offering me a level of privacy that was truly unprecedented. the views from all 7 windows were breathtaking, and I enjoyed relaxing in the separate sitting room with views across the fields. the accommodation's 5-star Gold Award from the British tourist board was well-deserved, and the proximity to the Dedham Vale and 'Constable Country' made for a picturesque setting. the amenities, including free WiFi and a flat-screen TV, were great additions to the ultimate luxurious experience at Pheasant Retreat. I would highly recommend this 17th-century farmhouse to anyone looking for a tranquil getaway in a beautiful location near Colchester Town. Can't wait to return for another relaxing stay!
